Google Meet's Gemini AI-Powered Feature

A Comprehensive Guide To Google Meet’s Gemini AI-Powered Feature: ‘Take Notes For Me’

‘Take notes for me,’ Google Meet’s Gemini AI-powered feature allows users to take notes during video calls. The tech giant originally revealed the new version in September of last year. Now it is being sent out to a limited number of Google Workspace customers.

Google Meet’s Gemini AI-Powered Feature

Google has introduced an AI-powered tool called ‘Take notes for me.’ It automatically takes meeting notes and shares them with attendees. The meeting owner’s Google Drive automatically saves the recorded notes. These are then shared with everyone on the company’s calendar invite list.

The tool is activated in Google Meet and saved in Google Docs. The notes document is linked to the calendar event, and meeting transcriptions and recording files are also linked if enabled. Within the notes document, users have the ability to hyperlink transcripts and meeting recordings.

Attending meetings and maintaining records might be difficult. During meetings, it enables users to be more attentive and involved while still gathering crucial data for follow-up and record-keeping.

‘Summary so far’ is another important element of this AI-powered tool. The functionality will let you know that Google Gemini is taking notes if you arrive late to a meeting. It will give you an overview of the topics that have been covered. It will also update you on the current topics of discussion in the meeting.

Steps To Using Google Meet’s Gemini AI-Powered Feature

Here are the steps to using the ‘Take notes for me’ tool:

  • Organize or attend a meeting.
  • Choose the ‘Take notes with Gemini’ option in the top right corner.
  • All participants will be notified that Gemini is taking notes.
  • After the meeting, go over your notes.

Accessibility

The function will be available to Google Workspace users. People with Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, or AI Meetings and Messaging add-ons will be able to utilize it. It’s crucial to remember that the functionality only supports English at this time.

For admins, the feature will be available by default. Users can use it once the admin turns it on. However, they can also enable it themselves from the calendar invite.

Google Meet’s new tool, powered by Gemini AI, can simplify the note-taking process during a meeting. With this feature, users can effortlessly take notes without missing details and increase work efficiency.
